Current or past students.

• 2025-2026: Eric Seo is performing a REU with Ben Stucky since May 2025
  to work on an open question which emerged from our joint work about The pinning ideal of a multiloop.
  This ongoing work will lead to a prepublication: The complexity of pinning simple multiloops
  showing that the problem of pinning simple multiloops is in P for <4 strands but NP-C for >17 strands.
• 2024-2025: Ryan Pham performed a REU with Ben Stucky from September 2024 and to May 2025
  to implement the Shor-Van-Wick algorithm which we use to compute a boolean formula for the pinning ideal of a loop.
  In particular this algorithm is now used to enhance the data basis his github project and this work was advertised here.
• 2023-2024: Mayank Yadav performed a REU with me from January 2023 to May 2024
  to investigate chord diagrams of loops and their interlace graphs.
  In particular his experimental results are available at his github project.
  This ongoing work will lead to a prepublication about
  Vertex complements of graphs: split-decomposition and interlace polynomials.
